A New England Clambake in Minnesota

A New England Clambake in Minnesota

When my cousins from Boston called the night before their arrival to say they wanted to have a clambake, I never dreamed they were going to bring live lobsters on the plane with them!  Live lobsters!  I didn’t even know they could do that, but after obtaining the OK from the airlines, the lobsters arrived along with my cousins after a seven-hour delay at the airport!  For my part, I shopped for a huge stockpot (I love that stockpot!).  In fact, as I waited in line to pay for it, two people were interested in buying it because I bought the last one.  It worked great.  We started cooking almost as soon as they walked in the door.  We had so much fun and the dinner was fabulous!  We didn’t even butter or salt the corn – it was that good!

  • As soon as I found out we were having a clambake, I went shopping right away for anything with a seashore decor for the table setting.  The Beach House place mats added to the fun and the theme of the dinner.  I actually found them at the same store as the one where I bought the stockpot.  It was fortunate that it was a summer visit and there was a good selection to choose from.
